Freeport-McMoRan, Inc. Donates to ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Student Success Center
Freeport-McMoRan Inc., a leading international mining company, made a $100,000 gift to ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ. The donation will name a study room in the new Student Success Center. The Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Student Lounge is located on the 1st floor of the SSC and will provide a space for students to study, gather, problem-solve, and lead.
“Our Students and campus are very grateful for the continued generous, impactful support from Freeport-McMoRan. Freeport has been positively impacting our campus for decades, we truly value our relationship” noted Joe McClafferty, President of the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Foundation.
“Freeport has a strong partnership with ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ,” said Mark Johnson, President & Chief Operating Officer of Freeport-McMoRan Indonesia. Mark graduated from ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç in 1981 with a degree in Mining Engineering. “The Freeport-McMoRan Study Room will be a great place for Orediggers to become problem-solvers, leaders, and trailblazers. We are proud to be a part of this great new addition to the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç campus.”
ºÚÁÏ´óʼǒs Student Success Center will open in the Fall of 2019. The ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Student Success and Living Learning Center will be a place for students to learn and study, to relax and play. When completed, ºÚÁÏ´óʼǒs SSC will become the heart of our campus. The nearly 100,000-square-foot facility will complete the student life experience on campus, providing an inspiring environment for students to live, grab a bite to eat, socialize, cultivate valuable leadership skills, and forge lifelong friendships. The first two floors of the facility will also provide 166 beds, providing much-needed residential capacity to campus.
