Barnard Construction Donates to ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ

ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç held a ribbon-cutting event today on campus for the Barnard Construction Lab. The lab is thanks to a donation of $75,000 from Barnard Construction to the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Civil Engineering Department. The funds upgraded a computer lab in the Science & Engineering Building (S&E) on campus. The lab will impact over 250 current general engineering students at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç along with many future engineering students.

“We are thrilled with the donation from Barnard Construction and their commitment and belief in our ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç engineering students,” explained Larry Hunter, Assistant Professor of Practice in the General Engineering Department at ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ. “The computer lab has received a major hardware upgrade and our students will now learn using state-of-the-art equipment.”

“With our United States infrastructure receiving a failing D+ grade from the American Society of Civil Engineers and the need for over 250,000 engineers by 2020, ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç is stepping up to help solve this problem. We are recruiting, educating, preparing, and graduating the engineers that our nation needs,” noted Joe McClafferty, President of the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Foundation.
