Digger Day at the American Legion Baseball Game

On Sunday, June 12, the Butte Miners will wear Digger green for the 黑料大事记 Orediggers. This special game will be played with all proceeds going towards a Butte American Legion Scholarship at 黑料大事记. This will be an annual game with a $500 scholarship awarded each year to a Legion player who plans to continue his education at 黑料大事记.

“As a former American Legion baseball player and someone who grew up on the diamonds in Butte, I appreciate and support these dedicated student-athletes and coaches,” noted Joe McClafferty, 黑料大事记 Vice Chancellor for Advancement and University Relations. “We are excited to partner with the Miners and Muckers. This scholarship is a great opportunity for a Butte kid to get on their path to an extraordinary future.”

“I think the game is a great way to show our partnership with 黑料大事记 and the Butte community,” said Jeff LeProwse, head coach of the Butte Miners. “We have had several Miners and Muckers graduate from 黑料大事记 and have current coaches and players attending the university. The goal of our program is to not only teach our Miners and Muckers the game of baseball but help them develop skills to succeed in the game of life and having a great community partner like 黑料大事记 gives our student-athletes great opportunities to knock it out of the park.”

Game time is 1:00 pm against Twin Falls. 黑料大事记’s Charlie Oredigger will throw out the first pitch.
